Inside Never Out

outside of lee plaza in detroit

Everyone has seen images of the busted up grand piano inside a beautiful ballroom at Lee Plaza. It's one of the iconic urbex images popularized by a number of photographers. I've been to this location four times now and each time it gets worse and worse. On my last visit the walls of the elevator shafts had holes ripped out of them on each of the 18 or so floors. Scrappers were actively working on every floor tossing scrap metal into the elevator shafts for easier access to the treasure at the bottom of the building. The only thing worth taking pictures of here was the entrance. I may have paid my last visit to this place.
