I popped the Occupy Toronto protest yesterday for a couple of hours (like many other photographers did) curious to see what the turnout would be like. I was surprised to see so many people there (media says up to 3,000 people) as well as their enthusiasm.
I am really conflicted when it comes to this protest. I absolutely believe in their right to protest and think the idea of peaceful demonstration is a right we all have. The problems are global and there is no easy fix. I didn't see many solutions being proposed that are actually feasible. Not to mention the irony of everything is WE ARE THE 1%. The world is a big frickin' place with a helluva lot of poor people. If you're lucky enough to live in Canada, you are already far ahead of the game.
