The Waters of Tragedy

On a February 2011 day in Halong Bay, 12 unsuspecting people from eight different countries aboard an overnight "junk boat" drowned to death in the picturesque UNESCO World Heritage Site. The boat sank very quickly while most on board were sleeping, likely disoriented by the boat capsizing. It is a bit unnerving to be in such beautiful surroundings knowing the tragedy that took place here a few months earlier. Rest in peace my fellow travellers. It could have been anyone.
