I stumbled upon one of the most interesting things thus far on my travels. Every Sunday at People's Square in Shanghai, there is a MASSIVE dating market where people post ads for themselves or their loved ones. There's a lot of parents looking on behalf of their children. It is quite the spectacle to see. The "ads" show all the basics -- age, height, job, income, expected requirements, etc. It is quite forward and upfront.
I even saw one man selling himself to a lady who was a potential mate. She had a notepad and was taking down notes. Through a translator, I was told she was gathering information about his health. Now that is truly being on the frontlines. Much respect.
