I could have posted a postcard quality picture of Petronas Towers or something from the Batu Caves as my first shot from Malaysia. However, what really struck me was what I saw near Titiwangsa Monorail Station. Pekeliling Flats or Tunku Abdul Rahman Flats was one of Kuala Lumpur's first high rise apartment buildings, consisting of 11 different blocks. Unfortunately, it gained notoriety because of the drug dealing, crime, suicides, and murders that happened within it. There are four or five blocks left -- massive apartment buildings left to decay.
I very much want to explore inside these massive structures (I'm damn near erect as I write this), but my self inflicted rule of "never explore alone" also applies while traveling. This rule was further re-enforced when a fellow explorer told me to "be careful as objects get thrown at you from the top floors."
Welcome to the Real KL
