It's sad to see this place literally disappear with every visit. I am told that metal scrappers actually keep their equipment onsite. There's a corner of the property that is storage for those who come here to rip the place apart. Only in Detroit. I wonder how long before it all just caves in?
This plant, by today's standards, was remarkably unique. The entire car was made in this one location -- from the engines to the bodies to the tires, it was all done from one central location. Originally, the plant consisted of some 60 buildings all serving a unique purpose. If you haven't been here to see this place with your own eyes, you can just imagine the enormity of the property.
