The Heidelberg Project in Detroit was created by a brilliant artist named Tyree Guyton (along with his grandfather) back in 1986. According to the documentary Detroit Lives, the idea of this art project was to draw as much attention to the neighborhood as possible, since this was the best way to deter crime and drugs.
