Queensboro Bridge

As seen from Roosevelt Island. Roosevelt Island is an actual island that is situated in the East River, you guessed it -- just off the east coast of Manhattan. It is still considered apart of the Manhattan borough and is a bit of a buffer zone between Manhattan and Queens.

Traveler's Tip: You can take a tram (or gondola for all you skiers) from the island back into Manhattan as part of your regular transit fare.
