This image is from the archives, taken on the Brooklyn Bridge last month in New York. The girlfriend and I rode bikes across the Brooklyn Bridge from Cobble Hill to Ground Zero. I rode her sister's antique collectible English bike, which had only one functional gear. It did the trick.
Though the bike ride was fun, others interested in doing the same should be warned that no one obeys the bike lane rules. Pedestrian dodging and a good set of lungs (or a bell) will be needed. I can't believe the bridge was empty for the split second it took me to take this photo. That is the Manhattan Bridge in the background, which isn't nearly as photogenic as the BK Bridge.
