Tamil Protest Spills to the Gardiner

In an act of civil disobedience, members and supporters of Toronto's Tamil community rushed onto the Gardiner Expressway yesterday causing traffic on this busy highway to be halted in both directions. Though it caused an inconvenience for many drivers, I can't say that I disagree with their tactics, nor could I say that I wouldn't do the same if my family overseas was being persecuted and no one in international community took notice. It was a peaceful protest with no arrests according to the local media outlets.

Pictures were captured using a 55-250mm zoom lens from my balcony at Lakeshore and Bathurst. My pictures were picked up by articles on Torontoist and BlogTO.
